Emma's love for hair began her senior year of high school, as she worked for her hairdresser for a school credit. Being in the salon felt like home.
Emma started at Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy in Colorado Springs following her high school graduation. Toni & Guy the creator of Bed Head is one of the leaders of the hair industry in the UK and in America. Upon completing the extensive cosmetology course, she returned to her home town of Salida, Colorado to start her new career. After a year of working in Colorado, Emma relocated to Hawaii where she worked her way up to a Master Stylist Title. After many years of working in the Corporate Salon industry, it was time to spread her wings.
Emma moved to a local Salon where she worked independently for a year. When the pandemic hit in March of 2020, Salons were deemed non-essential and we're closed for months. This was devastating to the beauty industry and Emma missed being behind the chair with her very loyal clients.
The pandemic sparked an idea to open her own Salon with a friend and fellow stylist, Joanna. Most would think it was crazy to open up a business during times of uncertainty. However, everything seemed to fall into place and KROMA Kauai Hair Studio was born.
With over 14 years of experience behind the chair Emma specializes in Hair Color, Color Corrections, Men's and Women's Haircuts and has a newfound love for Skin Care. Emma is looking forward to seeing you at KROMA Kauai Hair Studio for all of your Hair and Skin Care needs.
Joanna always knew she was going to be a hair dresser. When she was very young, age 5, she would go the the salon with her mom and just watch in awe as her moms stylist would whip up her do. As time went on, Joanna honed in on the craft that came naturally to her.
After high school, she attended Pivot Point International Beauty Academy in Chicago. She started out as an assistant at a hair salon in Schaumburg, Il. She worked her way up to Senior stylist and eventually became one of their educators to teach new comers their way of sculpting. Joanna was so fortunate to be able to work side by side with the most amazing world class artists in Chicago where she grew up.
After about 10 years behind the chair, her and her new husband decided to move to Austin, TX. where she spent the next 20 years. She received an opportunity to go into a business position and at that time she was apprehensive because she was a hair stylist. Well Joanna once again climbed the corporate ladder again and became a Branch Retail Executive IV, for a large regional bank. Very successful in her role, she see’s the decision was the right one to round off her experience and knowledge to someday have her own salon. There was one thing missing though…she truly missed being behind the chair.
As her and her husband relocated to Kauai to be near family, she started out in a local salon as an independent stylist. As grateful as she was for that experience, it was time to spread her wings and utilize all the knowledge she had gained as a business woman and hair stylist. Joanna opened KROMA Kauai Hair Studio with friend and fellow stylist Emma.
Joanna specializes in Color techniques and advanced precision scissor and razor cuts for women and men. She offers wedding services for your special day and also soon will be offering Estitician services as well for your full beauty experience.
Erwin, is a 2013 graduate of Aloha Lomi Massage Academy with instructor Carol Hart. He then completed and received his Massage License in March of 2014. He continued his journey into the Orthopedic Massage world with James Waslaski LMT author and international lecturer, where he was taught cutting edge orthopedic and sports massage techniques.
Erwin has multiple massage skills such as deep tissue massage, sports massage, and has studied and has applied low back and sciatica techniques. He is dedicated to delivering the highest quality service to every client. He is a compassionate massage therapist that does his best to help people deal with problems of the body, mind, and spirit, helping them to relax and feel relief with massage. He is a hard-working, fresh massage therapist focused on what the client wants and needs. Reliable and conscientious. With his Mana Lomi and orthopedic skills taught at one of the best massage schools and pain management seminars, he will do his best to help clients be their best.
